“We can practice leaning and letting for a stretch of time, but we will make these activities a lifestyle only if we deeply believe that god is good and can be trusted.” – Jenny L. Donnelly, “Still. 7 Ways to Find Calm in the Chaos.”
“Still. 7 Ways to Find Calm in the Chaos,” gives readers practical tools to use in their everyday lives. We are all prone to worry, and many of us suffer or know someone who suffers from anxiety. Donnelly, speaking from her own personal experience, is able to meet readers in the tricky pocket of worry and guide them out of it to rest. “When we mentally obsess about the future and try to live out a moment before we are in it, we anticipate what that moment might feel like without the benefit o the grace of God.” -Jenny L. Donnelly, “Still. 7 Ways to Find Calm in the Chaos.”
The eighteen chapters of the book are sectioned into three parts, “The Search for Rest,” “Seven Ways to Rest,” and “Rest is a Position.” Each chapter is thoughtfully laid out with Biblical principle and everyday life calls to action and application. Donnelly thoughtfully and thoroughly defines the root of the problems of unrest, and gently teaches from Scriptural truths. “We can’t use today’s grace for tomorrow’s race.”-Jenny L. Donnelly, “Still. 7 Ways to Find Calm in the Chaos.”
I highly recommend this book. Much of my copy is highlighted, earmarked, and has been shared with friends and family! “Still” will convict readers to the core! When a book meets me in a pocket where I struggle, I am so grateful! This is one of those books.
