The Sister-Friend (#jammed daily devo, day 293)

October #jammed: Free Grace.

Day 293: Since the beginning…

Someone with many so-called friends may end up friendless,
but a true friend is closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24

“Sissy patrol is on the roll!” they sing as they skip merrily down the side-walk…day 293

“Sissies forever ….” they tumble in laughter together as they jump on their trampoline.

Two years and two months a part, as my little catches up to her big sister …they become more and more inseparable …blessed with a sweet, honest and pure friendship.

I’d like to think their friendship is an answer to today’s verse prayed over their lives everyday. “Please bless their lives with godly friends.” It’s important. It’s life-giving, and it’s His love fleshed out in a way I’ve not witnessed before. Through all of the sisterly spats that have gone before them and are plentiful to come, I pray that they continue to seek each other out, and seek Him together.

They bond …as we do …over what we have in common. And the One they have in common seems to be the biggest reason they keep coming together. They skip out of church every Sunday, not wanting to leave the family they’ve formed there, and arm in arm they chant:

“Sissy patrol is on the roll!”

The plans He must have for these sweet souls.
